Best Things to Eat and Drink at Disney California Adventure Park

Hi friends! We just posted about the Best Things to Eat and Drink at Disneyland and didn’t include anything from California Adventure…why? Well, because it’s its own unique park full of unique eats that we thought deserved it’s own post! I looooove covering all of the festivals that DCA has, which have amazing food in their own right, but really there are a TON of amazing snacks and bites you can get YEAR ROUND! So if you’re looking for something off the festival path, take a look at some of our favorites!

A few tips before we get started…

MOBILE ORDERING

Do yourself a favor and if you have a hankering for a snack nearby, check Mobile Ordering on the Disneyland Mobile App! Pick an available restaurant and arrival time that suits your schedule, then make your selections. Once you’ve reviewed your details, you can purchase your order using a credit card or debit card. Once you’re at the restaurant during your chosen arrival times, just select the “I’m Here, Prepare My Order” button so the kitchen starts your order. You’ll receive a notification from the app when your food is ready to retrieve at the counter with the “Mobile Order Pick Up” sign. EASY PEASY and life changing.

DON’T FORGET AP DISCOUNTS

Along those budgeting lines, if you’re a Disneyland Annual Passholder, don’t forget to ask if there is an AP Discount! Annual Passholders receive 10-15% discounts on dining at most Disneyland restaurants. Some kiosks and spots don’t offer, but it’s always best to ask!

Jack Jack Cookie Num Num from Jack Jack Cookie Num Nums

Confession: I just had my first Cookie Num Num a few weeks ago but you guys, it’s now on the top of my list! What have I been missing this whole time?! Well I’ll tell you, a huge, soft, warm chocolate-loaded Chocolate Chip Cookie that’s perfect for sharing!

Lobster Nachos from Lamplight Lounge

I know you’ve heard about these, and YES they’re worth the hype! I love stopping at the new Lamplight Lounge and sharing a plate with my favorite peeps.

Churros from Willie’s Churros Cart

No stop at any Disney park is complete without a classic churro! I love stopping at Willie’s too because they’re front and center and always busy…so that means the churros are always fresh! Plus, it’s easy to grab one (or two) when you’re leaving the park in the evening.

Funnel Cake Fries from Award Wieners

Always get the funnel cake fries from Award Wieners, always. They’re one of my favorite treats in all of California Adventure! There are often seasonal offerings and it really doesn’t matter which ones you order, they’re all fabulous!

Churro Toffee from Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff

Yes I’m sure you’ve heard about the Churro Toffee, right? It’s one of Disneyland’s best-selling candy right now! Do yourself a favor and grab a couple pieces — one to enjoy at the park and one to take home!

Candy and Sweets from Trolley’s Treats

I always stop by Trolley’s Treats to see what Crispy Treats, Caramel Apples, Marshmallow Wands (like the NEW Churro Marshmallow Wand) and MORE that they have on display! They are always AMAZING and honestly, I try something NEW every time I visit! I definitely would add Trolley’s Treats on your must-stop list (bonus: it’s next to Clarabelle’s and Starbucks!).

Waffles from Flo’s V8 Cafe

Ok so this one’s on the “Kids menu” BUT I totally think it’s the perfect meal to start a Disney day! Not too heavy, the best view in the park and of course, Disney waffles. Does it get any better?

Waffles from Flo's V8 Cafe

Brioche French Toast from Flo’s V8 Cafe

Also another great option for breakfast is the Brioche French Toast! Flo’s really is the best place to eat breakfast in the park. Baked and served with salted caramel sauce and bananas, this is a delicious and decadent way to start your Disney day!

Chocolate-Vanilla Twist Soft-Serve from Cozy Cone Motel

It seems basic but I ADORE stopping at the Cozy Cone for a swirl ice cream cone! I seriously live for it on warm Disneyland days. I feel like it’s harder and harder to come by an ice cream stop that has the classic chocolate-vanilla swirl, so when I find it, I must have it!

Chili Cone Queso from Cozy Cone Motel

Now we’re getting into the “meat” of things! The cone’s from Cozy Cone Motel are the real deal. The Chili Cone Queso is filled with with beef chili, cheddar cheese and corn chips served in a bread cone. (Vegetarian Chili available.)

Bacon Mac ‘n’ Cheese from Cozy Cone Motel

Now this one’s for my mac and cheese lovers! This bread cone is filled with creamy mac ‘n’ cheese mixed with roasted bacon. Did someone say bacon?!

Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait from Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats

It’s Lemon! Seriously, the Adorable Snowman is such a fun place to stop! If you’re going for the “Instagrammable” treat, grab the Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait! It’s a nondairy lemon soft-serve on top of blue raspberry swirl slush.

It’s Snow-Capped Lemon! from Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats

If you’re looking for something a little on the smaller side, you can’t go wrong with the Snow-Capped Lemon cone! It’s a nondairy lemon soft-serve topped with white chocolate. One of my favorites!

Lands End Salted Caramel Brownie Sundae from Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop

Stop the presses! Ghirardelli is one place I ALWAYS visit in DCA! They have the best ice cream concoctions and one of my favorites is the brownie sundae! This gorgeous treat includes vanilla ice cream, a full-size Ghirardelli Chocolate Brownie, caramel sauce, sea salt and handmade hot fudge topped with whipped cream, caramel sauce, Ghirardelli Chocolate Sauce and a cherry! Yes, it’s good for sharing.

Seasonal Bread Pudding from Pacific Wharf Café

Now you’ll likely find a new seasonal bread pudding each time you go to Pacific Wharf Café, and I highly recommend you try it! I love a good bread pudding and they do it so well! It’s a perfect little dessert to share with family or friends after your lunch on the Wharf.

Soup in a Sourdough Bread Bowl from Pacific Wharf Café

The holy grail of lunches! I love getting a Sourdough Soup Bowl on my days in DCA! You can choose from clam Chowder, broccoli and cheese or Disney’s famed baked potato soup! It’s delicious and filling!

Sourdough Mickey from Pacific Wharf Café

Now take some of that freshly baked sourdough goodness home with you, Mickey style! These big bread loaves are a perfect item to enjoy at home along with some Irish butter. YUM!

Minnie Mouse Kitchen Sink from Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream

Now this should be on your Disney bucket list! You can choose between Mickey and Minnie, but you really need to get a Kitchen Sink one of these days. Not only are they so fun, they’re great for sharing and you get to keep the sink!

Turkey Leg from Poultry Place

I know, I know, everyone talks about the drumsticks from Poultry Place and they’re good! In fact, it’s the perfect thing to order for my three boys BUT, if my husband is ordering, then the Turkey Leg is tops on his list. And since I’m likely appealing to adults here, this is what I’d recommend!

Angry Dog from Angry Dogs

One of my boys favorite stops! The Angry Dog is a spicy all-beef hot dog with a small bag of “hot fries.” What is it about kids and spicy snacks, anyways? I digress, I love this stop on Pixar Pier, it’s perfect for a quick lunch, with many “dessert” options nearby.

Mickey Pretzel from Pretzel Carts

Can’t go wrong with a Mickey Pretzel! I love them with a cup of nacho sauce OR you can find filled pretzels at Pacific Wharf Distribution Co. as well that are just divine! He also makes the cutest picture, hello Insta!

Classic Mickey Shake from Schmoozies!

Always, always get a milk shake from Schmoozies! It’s one of my favorite DCA stops. The Classic Mickey is an Oreo shake topped with whipped cream and Oreo Mickey ears.

Churro Shake from Schmoozies!

Another GREAT option that is still around for a little longer is the Churro Shake: brown sugar-cinnamon ice cream, cinnamon churro cereal, whipped topping and…Churro Toffee! It’s a delicious one and must-try while it’s available!

Rainbow Unicorn Memory Refresher from Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff

Probably the prettiest and most-“Instagramable” one in my opinion is the Rainbow Unicorn Memory Refresher. It takes Mellow Yellow, Hi-C Lime, Blue Raspberry Fanta, Grape Fanta, and Cherry Fanta to make the masterpiece and then is topped with Rainbow Nerds.

Fillmore’s Fuelin’ Groovy Pomegranate Limeade from Cozy Cone Motel

This one will surely help to fuel you on a warm Disney day! An all-natural lemonade with wild berry foam, or pomegranate limeade with lemon-lime foam — this one can be made “high octane” by adding Vodka when you order!

Rita’s Lemon-Lime Margarita from Rita’s Baja Blenders

You can’t go wrong with this classic Lemon-Lime Margarita…and Rita’s is known for their margaritas! It’s a quick stop on a warm day to cool off with a classic refresher. I highly recommend!

Ritas Lemon-Lime Margarita from Ritas Baja Blenders

Karl Strauss from Pacific Wharf Distribution Co.

This one’s for my beer lovers! We love the little food truck on Pacific Wharf that serves up freshly tapped Karl Strauss beer! You can also find some tasty filled pretzels…now that I think about it, I need to add those to my list!
